Call for Participations: Asian Athletic Academy

Asian Athletic Academy has started with the vision of producing the world’s top sprinter from Asia. With technology and science, we will convey the advanced training theory. For our vision, we will;
– Bring the level of athletes in Asia up
– Improve the quality of training in Asia by bringing the level of coaches up
– Deepen and widen friendship by bringing athletes from different countries in Asia
We are waiting for the application from ambitious athletes in Asia.

We have accepted participants from below countries with nomination from athletic federations from each country.
Bhutan, Laos, Nepal, Sri Lanka (athletes to be selected)

Contents

– Athletes stay in Japan (mainly in Tokyo) while the program
– Training by coaches of Asian Athletic Academy
– Learn coaching through working as intern in TRAC (running school)
– Communication is basically in English

Coaches

Dai Tamesue

– The first Japanese sprinter to win a medal in a track event at a World Competition. Current Japanese record holder for Men’s 400 meter hurdle (as of January 2019). Bronze medalist of the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton and 2005 World Championships in Athletics in Helsinki.
– Represented Japan in the Sydney, Athens, and Beijing Olympics.
– Representative Director of Athlete Society.

Masahiro Ohnishi

– Learned coaching in university and graduate school.
– Works as coach for TRAC (running school) from 2015.
– Supports Para-athlete and athletes in Asian countries.
– Other coaches, TBD

Requirements

– National level performance
– To be able to communicate in English
– To be able to stay together with athletes from other countries

Number to be accepted

– 2-3 athletes

Program schedule

– February 18 to March 3, 2019
– Weekday; Training and lessons in the morning, coaching in the school in the afternoon
– Exchange event with students, visit to embassy, national and local government office, etc.

Participation fee

– Flights to/from Tokyo, Japan
– VISA acquisition cost
– Personal expenditure during the program
– Tuition (Training fee) and accommodation are sponsored by Athlete Society

Selection

Coaches in Asian Athletic Academy and Athlete Society will select the participants.
Participant will be decided before the end of January.
